PURPOSE: A method for controlling D(Drive)-R(Reverse) speed change of an automatic transmission is provided to prevent the discomfort due to the shift shock and engine rpm rising in D-R change of a shift lever. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling D-R speed change of an automatic transmission comprises the steps of deciding if a shift lever switching signal is inputted when a vehicle is stopped in the D range(S110), deciding if a speed change condition is satisfied(S120), releasing a corresponding friction element, outputting a combining duty for an initial fill time after a specific time, outputting an output time by correcting the combining duty, and completing speed change synchronization by performing feedback control.
