PURPOSE: An up-link data transmission method using a common packet channel in a mobile communication system is provided to use a common packet channel when performing the up-link data transmission, thereby enhancing the system channel volume and transmission efficiency. CONSTITUTION: When a request of data transmission is received from an RLC(Radio Link Control), a MAC(Media Access Control) requests information on the existence of use of a common channel packet to a physical layer(S10). The physical layer transmits the information on the existence of use of a common channel packet to the MAC(S20). When it is discriminated that a common packet channel is usable, the MAC requests an access of the common channel packet to the physical layer(S30). After the physical layer performs an access processing procedure of the common packet channel, the existence of success about the channel access processing procedure is transmitted to the access control sub-layer(S40). When the access procedure of the common packet channel succeeds, the access control sub-layer produces data as a format corresponding to the common packet channel and then transmits the data to the physical layer(S50). The physical layer loads the received data to the common packet channel and then transmits the loaded data to the base station(S60).
