PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring a cutting time of cutting equipment are provided to detect a practical cutting time by using a spindle load meter for sensing a cutting load. CONSTITUTION: A spindle load meter(10) measures a state of spindle load of cutting equipment and outputs a signal corresponding to a measured value. An isolated amplifier(20) amplifies a signal output from the spindle load meter(10) and outputs an analog insulating signal. A terminal(30) is used for obtaining the insulating signal from the isolated amplifier(20). A data acquisition board(40) receives the analog isolating signal including noise of the spindle load meter(10) from the terminal(30) and converts the analog isolating signal to digital data. A control portion(50) includes a monitoring software and calculates a practical cutting time by analyzing the digital data received from the data acquisition board(40). A display portion(60) displays the practical cutting time according to a driving control signal.
