PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing roll having excellent adhesive strength by achieving uniformity in expandability while suppressing the enlargement of expanded granules of silicone rubber and to provide a method for producing the fixing roll with few production man-hour. SOLUTION: The fixing roll has a two-layer coating structure formed by coating the periphery of a core metal with a silicone rubber layer having a low expansion degree and further coating this silicone rubber layer with a silicone rubber layer having a high expansion degree. In the method for producing the fixing roll, a low expandable silicone rubber material and a high expandable silicone rubber material are simultaneously extruded on the periphery of the core metal in such a way that the low expandable silicone rubber material is held between the core metal and the high expandable silicone rubber material to form a two-layer coating structure comprising rubber layers and then vulcanization and heat treatment are carried out.
