PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polyolefin that has a high bulk density and an extremely narrow particle size distribution, a small proportion of fine particles and a large average particle diameter. SOLUTION: A polyolefin is produced by performing the polymerization or copolymerization of an olefin in the presence of a catalyst system comprising (A) a solid catalyst component obtained by reacting (a) a solution comprising at least a magnesium compound, a titanium compound and an alcohol with (b) an aluminum halide compound so as to precipitate the solid catalyst component wherein the reaction is carried out while continuously delivering a circulating flow to not less than 5 vol.% of the solution (a) at a flow rate of 0.5-10 m/s in a constant direction on a vertical line of a reactor tank and (B) an organoaluminum compound as a catalyst component.
