PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which realized high durabil ity as well as smoothing and uniform thickness of magnetic layers which lead to super excellent electromagnetic convertibility. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium comprises on its base, at least, one nonmagnetic layer which contain nonmagnetic powders, the magnetic layer which contains at least, one layer of ferromagnetic powders and a binder in this order. The binder which is at least contained in the magnetic layer is aliphatic acrylate compound with more than three functional groups, which molecular weight is from 259 to 1,000, or aliphatic methacryrate compound with more than 3 functional groups which molecular weight is from 250 to 1,000, which are cured by radiation exposure, or further heat-treated after being cured by radiation exposure, and the said compounds are applied from 5 to 30 weight parts to ferromagnetic powder 100 weight parts.
