PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system which charges for information that a user requests. SOLUTION: An information providing server 5 at an access point 2 connected to a communication terminal 1 by an arbitrary communication line retrieves a contents server 6 at an information provision source 4 at a user's retrieval request from the communication terminal 1 or executes an application on the contents server 6 to receive retrieval or execution results, and generates their list and sends the list to the communication terminal 1. The user downloads necessary information specified by the list received by the communication terminal 1 from the information managing server 5 or the contents server 6 to the communication terminal 1. A charging server 3 charges the user according to the data amount, data kind, etc., of the information downloaded to the communication terminal 1 and the contents of actually used information reported from the information managing server 5. |
