PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method for the rotation of a disk for a watt- hour meter, in which the speed of rotation of a disk for metering can be counted correctly, without being influenced by the rotational speed of the disk for metering, and to provide an induction-type watt-hour meter. SOLUTION: The disk 10 for metering is turned, and creep holes 13 pass through a first photosensor 15A and a second photosensor 15B. First, only the first photosensor 15A is operated once or a plurality of numbers of times by a chattering operation. After that, timing is shifted, and only the second photosensor 15B is operated once or a plurality of numbers of times by chattering operation. After that, when the second photosensor 15B is operated, the rotation of the disk 10 for metering is detected. A state with the cumulative speed of rotation of the disk 10 for metering being counted excessively, due to a plurality of operations by the chattering operation, can be prevented.
