PURPOSE: A composite liquid crystal display panel having a partial passive matrix structure and a method for fabricating the panel are provided to reduce consumption power by employing both of active matrix and passive matrix structures. CONSTITUTION: A composite liquid crystal display panel(100) includes a TFT array(20), a source drive IC and a gate drive IC arranged at the sides of the TFT array. The TFT array(20) and a TN structure(40) are constructed in one panel so that the TFT array and TN structure are selectively displayed according to display data. The TN structure is formed in a stripe shape. The cell gap of the TN LCD part is identical to the cell gap of the TFT array. The TFT array is fabricated in a manner that a SiNx layer and a passivation layer are sequentially formed on a substrate. An ITO film is formed on a predetermined portion of the passivation layer, adjacent to the TFT array. The ITO film is etched so as to have a passive LCD structure.
