PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase-transition optical record medium that is highly sensitive and good in repeated overwrite characteristics even when recorded at a high line speed which will be required as an optical record medium in future or in a wide range of line speed covering from low line speed to a high line speed in high density. SOLUTION: The optical record medium 1 is laminated with a transparent substrate 2, bottom protective layer 3, record layer 4, first upper protective layer 5, second upper protective layer 6 and reflective layer 7 and the record layer 4 uses phase transition between amorphous and crystalline phases. The first upper protective layer 5 that is composed of a mixture of ZnS, SiO2 and Ta features the optical record medium. |
