<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for adjusting an amount of play which can allow an operator to adjust an amount of play without the need of experience and without operator-dependent variation. SOLUTION: A play sensor 15 is hung between an upper chain line 4 and a lower chain line 5 of a drive chain 3 which is looped over a drive sprocket 1 and a driven sprocket 2. By driving an adjuster 10, which is mounted on the back end of a rear fork 6, by an adjuster driving member 12, the location of the driven sprocket 2 is adjusted to change the tension of the drive chain 3. The adjuster driving member 12 is driven by air from an air source 14 through an electromagnetic valve 13. When the amount of play of the drive chain 3 becomes a predetermined value, the play sensor 15 detects it, and transmits a signal to a sequencer 16. By closing the electromagnetic valve 13 by the sequencer 16, the air supply is cut off to stop the drive of the adjuster driving member 12.</p> |
