PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate moving direction by arrows, for example, as that the locational relationship between before the displaying of map is changed over and after the displaying of a map is changed over can be understood. SOLUTION: This map display device is provided with a memory in which map data are stored, a display device capable of displaying a map, a display changeover instruction part and a CPU(central processing unit) and in this device, when map data are read out from the memory and the data are made to be displayed on the display part as a map by the CPU and an instruction for changing over the displaying of a map is performed by the instruction part, the movement direction between a map which is displayed on the display part at present and a map which is to be displayed on the display next is detected and information indicating movement directions of the maps is made to be displayed on the display part so that the direction of the next display part is indicated before the displaying of the map is changed over and the direction of the previous display part is indicated after the displaying of the map is changed over based on the detected movement direction. |
