PURPOSE: A carriage is provided to achieve improved reliability for product by preventing collision between the latch and carriage, through the buffer member using a friction brake force. CONSTITUTION: A carriage comprises a main body(131) where an ink cartridge(110) is accommodated; a latch(132) arranged to be rotatable to the main body, and which opens/closes the opening of the main body for entrance/exit of the ink cartridge; an elastic member for elastically biasing the latch in the direction where the latch is open; a locking unit for locking the latch at the closed state; and a buffer unit for reducing the rotation speed of the latch by providing a predetermined brake force against the opening operation of the latch caused due to the elastic force of the elastic member when the locking unit is released. The buffer unit includes an elastic protrusion(121) arranged at the latch; and a friction rail(122) arranged at the main body such that the elastic protrusion passes along the friction rail during rotation of the latch.
