<p>A metal mold (1), comprising a mold upper part (3) allowing a work to come into contact therewith and a mold lower part (5) connected to the lower surface of the mold upper part, wherein the mold upper part (3) is formed of a material having a wear resistance and a high heat treated hardness and the mold lower part (5) is formed of a material having a toughness providing a heat treated hardness lower than that of the mold upper part (3), and an appropriate heat treatment is performed to provide a rather inexpensive metal mold (1), whereby, since the mold upper part (3) has a high wear resistance, a high bending accuracy can be maintained and, even if a pressing force far exceeding an allowable limit is applied to the mold upper part (3) and the mold upper part is ruptured, the fragments of the metal mold (1) are not spattered since an energy produced at the time of the rupture is absorbed by the metal mold lower part (5) with high toughness.</p> |
