PURPOSE: An optimum recording method of an optical disc is provided to use a limited test data recording area of the optical disc, so as to promptly decide optimum recording optical power values corresponding to each recording speed and to optimize data recording. CONSTITUTION: If data recording is requested to a microcomputer(S10), the microcomputer confirms a write strategy, namely, a recording pulse and a target recording optical power value from a rotative optical disc(S11). The microcomputer records test data, while varying the confirmed recording optical power value and recording pulse(S12). If the recording of test data is completed(S20), the microcomputer decides each optimum recording optical power value corresponding to each recording speed from a reproduction feature of the recorded test data, for storage in a memory(S21). The microcomputer confirms an optimum recording optical power value corresponding to a current recording speed in the memory(S22). And the microcomputer controls an optical driver, to perform a recording operation using the confirmed optimum recording optical power value(S23).
