PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining low frequency components whose production is based on non-linearity of somatic tissues or non-linearity of ultrasonic contrast medium. SOLUTION: After base band signal components are extracted by band-pass filter 22, the signal components thus obtained are logarithmically converted before second-dimensional images are displayed. The band-pass filter 22 at low frequency side has pass-band area properties not containing DC components.
