PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in conventional weather strips and their manufacturing method and provide an inexpensive weather strip produced through a simple process and a manufacturing method of the weather strip. SOLUTION: According to the weather strip and its manufacturing method, the weather strip comprises a body consisting of a synthetic rubber material or a thermoplastic elastomer, of which the cross sectional shape is made almost U-shape, a vehicle-exterior seal lip projected relatively short from the upper end of the one side wall of the body to the up-and-down direction of a window glass, and a vehicle-interior seal lip projected relatively long from the upper end of the other side wall of the body to the up-and-down direction of the window glass. On the surface of each seal lip, which is in contact and rubbed with the side of the window glass, a low friction layer is formed, of which the surface is roughed by forming a gas bank by the foaming effect of a foaming agent contained in the body. Thus, the surface roughness of the low friction layer is set relatively high so that its friction coefficient and specific gravity can be reduced. |
