PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with such a function that sheets are bound using a member other than a metal. SOLUTION: This binding device comprises a cartridge 3 which retains cylindrical consumables consisting of a non-metallic material, a perforating member 16 which opens holes in sheets 5, the perforating member 16 and a paper receiving base 13 for inserting the cylindrical consumables 4 into the holes of the sheets 5, a thick wall part 13e, and insertion mechanism consisting of a regulating part 36 and a deforming block 12 for deforming the end part of the cylindrical consumables. The consumables 4 are inserted into the holes opened by the perforating member 16, deformed by the deforming block 12 and the sheets 5 are bound.
