PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chucking unit capable of keeping its holding force even when a centrifugal force is generated with a high velocity revolution, and also capable of applying the holding force to either of a radial direction or an axial line direction. SOLUTION: The chucking unit 100 is provided with a fixing member 101, a cylinder 102 fixed to this fixing member 102, a driving piston 103 slidably installed to the fixing member 101 and the cylinder 102 in an axial line direction, a driving lid member 104 fixedly mounted to the driving piston 108, a driving member 105 mounted to the operating lid member 104 through an adjustable joint 106, a plurality of holding arms 107 turnably mounted to the driving member 105, a supporting plate 108 mounted to a front end of the cylinder 102, and a holding jaw 109 fixedly connected to the holding arms 107 so as to project ahead of the supporting plate 108.
