PURPOSE: A JINI home network service management system and a method for controlling the same are provided to link a JINI module with a servlet that provides web services so that service providers can manage service registration, deletion and modification in home networking through the web. CONSTITUTION: A JINI home network service management system consists of a lookup server(20), a service provider(40), a user module(60), a service provider module(70), and a manager part(80). The lookup server(20) enables a user to use lookup service in order to catch a service location. The service provider(40) accesses the lookup server(20) and registers his/her location and service list. The user module(60) accesses the lookup server(20), obtains the location and service of a desired service provider(40), makes the service of the service provider(40) executed, and displays a result to the user. The service provider module(70) executes a required management operation for service data registered in the lookup server(20) according to a service management request and transmits the management contents to the service provider(40). The manager part(80) transmits a service management request to the service provider module(70), and integrates and controls the management of service registration, deletion, and modification for the service data of a relevant service provider(40).
