PURPOSE: A dust cover for a shock absorber is provided to reduce working hours, and to cut down expenses by simplifying the assembling structure of the dust cover and a cup and parts. CONSTITUTION: A cup(130) is installed in the upper part of a piston rod(150), and an insertion part(122) is formed in a dust cover(120) to press-fit the outer periphery of the cup. The dust cover is installed out of an external pipe(110) to prevent dust or foreign matters from being moved into the external pipe. A contact supporting surface(124) is formed in the upper part of the insertion part, and contacted to the upper surface of the cup with elastic force. A fitting sill(126) is formed in the insertion part, and bent inward. The insertion part of the elastic hard dust cover is inserted to the lower part of the cup by press-fitting, and rotation of the dust cover and the cup is prevented in interlocking the piston rod. Displacement is prevented by covering the upper part of the cup by the contact supporting surface of the dust cover. Working hours are reduced with simplifying the assembling structure.
