PURPOSE: An electric connector is provided to improve the contact reliability of an elastically contacting arm to a circuit board and to lengthen the arm of the elastically contacting arm. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector(1) for connecting first and second separate spaced circuit boards includes a plurality of contacts(10) stamped from sheet metal secured within an insulating housing(20). Each contact includes a rectangular base(11) from which a connection portion(15) projects for connection to the first circuit board situated below the housing and two resilient contact arms(12A,12B) for connection via their contact portions(13c,14c) to the second circuit board situated above the housing. The two contact arms are substantially parallel to each other and extend obliquely upwards from root portions(13a,14a) adjacent one end of the base through a housing passageway(21) to connected slits(22, 23) in top and side walls of the housing. One arm has a root situated below and laterally inwardly of the root of the other arm and has a longer contact portion than the other arm which enters the housing side wall slit when depressed by the second circuit board.
