PURPOSE: A propeller shaft is provided to allow the flange yoke to be easily coupled to the flange, while broadening freedom of design by eliminating the portion of flange yoke where the bolt hole is formed. CONSTITUTION: A propeller shaft which is installed in the lengthwise direction of vehicle body so as to transmit the torque of transmission to a rear axle, comprises a flange(9) connected to the propeller shaft so as to transmit a torsion torque; and a flange yoke(11) gear-coupled to the flange and connected to a universal joint of the propeller shaft. The flange has a gear(13) arranged at the inner periphery of the flange, and the flange yoke has a gear(15) arranged at the outer periphery of the flange yoke. The gears arranged at the flange and the flange yoke are coupled in an axial direction so as to transmit a torsion torque. When the torsion torque is transmitted to the flange, the gear of the flange rotates so as to thereby transmit the torsion torque to the gear of the flange yoke. Thus, the torsion torque transmitted to the flange is transmitted to the rear axle side through the propeller shaft.
