PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can exclusively and selectively use communication modes, each of which is used to execute unique communication. SOLUTION: A system controller 27 executes switching of operation modes used to respectively make communication with an external electronic device connected by a USB cable, when predetermined at least two buttons are simultaneously depressed. When the system controller 27 is externally connected to any electronic device and receives various inquiries from the electronic device, only when a mode acting like one peripheral device of the electronic device is set, does the system controller 27 return a reply with respect to the inquiries and when the other modes are set, the system controller 27 disregards the inquiries, and thus prevents inquiries to grasp a state of each peripheral device from taking place during the communication in the other operation modes. |
