PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp mount that is suitable for manufacturing a thin tube discharge lamp of high performance and high reliability and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp mount 2 is comprised of a metal sleeve 3 that constitutes a discharge electrode body, a wales 4 that makes a leading lead wire of which top end is inserted and fixed to the one end of the above metal sleeve 3, and a glass bead 5 fused to the wales 4. The engagement and fixing of the metal sleeve 3 to the wales is made by pressure contraction of the metal sleeve 3 from at least three directions.
