PURPOSE: A method for switching data transmission port is provided to rapidly detect the abnormality of an end-to-end duplicated data transmission port using a hot line and to swiftly switch the data transmission port. CONSTITUTION: A hot-link transmitting part in a transmitting part receives an 8-bit data and a 4-bit watch dog command from a transmitting control part and transmits the 8-bit data to the active hot-link Rx ports of a hot-link receiving part through active hot-link Tx ports(S21). Also the hot-link transmitting part periodically transmits the 4-bit watch dog command to the active hot-link Rx ports. Then an LFI(Link Failure Indicator) signal generation part generates an LFI signal and transmits it to the hot-link receiving part. The hot-link receiving part receives the 8-bit data, the watch dog command and the LFI signal and transmits them to a receiving control part(S23). The receiving control part judges whether the LFI signal has an error(S25). In case that it is judged that the LFI signal has an error as a fault has been generated from a data transmission port, the receiving control part controls the hot-link receiving part in order to request switch from the active hot-link Rx ports to the standby hot-link ports(S27). In response to the receiving control part's switch request, the hot-link receiving part switches the active hot-link Rx ports to the standby hot-link ports(S33).
