PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector having a plurality of terminals of which, the timing of fitting with a mate connector are different from each other, effectively restraining the necessary maximum fitting operation force, while restraining the size not to become large. SOLUTION: For a connector C1, a cam plate 20 is rotation capably mounted to a housing 10 which slides against a holder 30, and the cam plate fits into a mate connector C2, and the operation force necessary for the connector fitting is reduced by the rotation of cam plate 20 interlocking with the movement of a protrusion 22 for the cam inside a groove 38 of the holder 30, and the sliding of the housing 10. The groove 38 has the first groove part 38a, and the second part 38b of which, the directional component parallel with the terminal fitting direction is bigger than the same of the first groove 38a. It is made so that the protrusion 22 for the cam locates in the groove part 38a when connector fitting is started, and locates in the groove part 38b when the necessary fitting operation force is getting to the peak.
