PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that subscribes to a caller notice number (hereinafter called a caller ID) service, automatically selects an optimum connection condition with a destination terminal on the basis of its communication satellite and can avoid a useless communication time. SOLUTION: The facsimile terminal stores a final transmission rate used for (n-1) times of communication with the same destination telephone number to a terminal connection history storage section 130 as the communication history, identifies the transmission rate that is most frequently used in the communication history stored in the section 130 and stores the transmission rate to a terminal connection condition storage section 120 as an optimum connection condition at the arrival of the n-th incoming call. Furthermore, the facsimile terminal makes communication on the basis of the connection condition stored in the terminal connection condition storage section 120 at the n-th and succeeding communications.
