CONTACTLESS IC CARD READER FOR CONTACTLESS IC CARD SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A contactless IC(integrated circuit) card reader for contactless IC card system is provided to decrease a power consumption in a contactless IC card and contactless IC card reader by supplying only a predetermined power set value to the contactless IC card after generating an electromagnetic wave. CONSTITUTION: A sensor circuit I(214) senses the access of a contactless IC card(220) and a card user through an infrared ray and a supersonic wave. A sensor circuit II(215) senses a maximum distance for communication between the contactless IC card(220) and the contactless IC card reader(210). A distance calculating circuit(216) calculates a distance between the contactless IC card(220) and the contactless IC card reader(210). A power source control circuit(217) provides a predetermined power supply setting value to the contactless IC card(220) according to the distance between the contactless IC card(220) and the contactless IC card reader(210).
