PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shadow mask that is constructed so that the electron beams reflected at the side face of the hole part constituting the electron beam passing holes may not bring about deterioration of color purity of the screen. SOLUTION: The shadow mask 1 comprises ridgeline 8, 8b, 8e that are formed by the side face of an electron gun side hole par and the side face of a fluorescent face side hole part crossing each other in the electron beam passing holes, which are formed by etching process of a metal plate material and made of the electron gun side hole 4a, 4b where electron beams enter and the fluorescent face side hole 3a, 3b from where electron beams emit. The electron beam passing hole is formed so that the electron beams, which are irradiated in a prescribed angle to the shadow mask surface formed with the electron gun side hole 4b, and of which a part are reflected at the side face 10e of the electron gun side hole 4b, may be obstructed by the side face 6b of the fluorescent face side hole 3b or returned to the electron gun side.
