<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a spot and an object at the spot with a linear unique code used to specify the spot. SOLUTION: A map of the whole country is divided into sections of squares of 900 seconds, each section is divided into blocks of squares of 30 seconds, and each block is divided into units of squares of 1 second to make it possible to hierarchically specify areas on the map. A 3-digit section code is defined for each section, a 3-digits block code corresponding to the relative position relation in the section is defined for each block, and a 3-digits unit code corresponding to the relative position relation in the block is defined for each unit. In addition to those section code, block code, and unit code, a kind code is further added to constitute a linear unique code. A spot is specified by an area on the map with the section code, block code, and unit code and what is an object at the specified spot is specified with the kind code.</p> |
