Torque-dependent disengaging device for a motor vehicle clutch (10) in which an electronic control (14) converts a control pulse coming from a torque sensor (18) and relays it to an automatic clutch unit (13). The automatic clutch unit (14) opens and closes the clutch (10) by way of a suitable clutch control element (17) as a function of the torque detected by the torque sensor (18). A bridging circuit (16) is assigned to the electronic control (14), by means of which circuit the automatic clutch unit (13) can be shut down and the engine (11) used as engine brake during overrun conditions. A signal transmitter (21) assigned to the accelerator pedal (15) can also relay a closing command to the automatic clutch unit (13).
