The invention relates to a novel solution for preparing stool specimens for diagnostic tests. Said solution enables a simple preparation of the specimens to be carried out before said specimens undergo an immunological detection process, and increases the sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility of the test. The solution imperatively contains a buffer substance, a detergent and a blocking reagent. The invention further relates to a method for analysing a stool specimen for diagnostic purposes, using the inventive solution.
