The bottle recycling device has a housing (1) provided with a door (2) across its front side incorporating an entry opening for access to an entry chamber with a surface on which the returned empty bottles (27) are placed, for identification via an identification device, before transfer to a magazine carriage (4) with at least 2 storage planes, contained within a housing space (3) behind the door. The surface receiving the empty bottles can pivot to allow transfer of the bottles to the magazine carriage via a chute.
