摘要

Object boundaries, such as for light emitting samples in an optical analytic al instrument, are determined in a digital image area by subdividing the image area into blocks of pixels. Thresholds between background and objects are determined for each block. Pixel thresholds are determined by interpolation of block thresholds. From each pixel intensity and its threshold, each pixel is assigned a bimodal intensity representing either object or background. Bimod al objects are delineated to determine the object boundaries. A pin-and-wheel procedure is disclosed for the delineation.
