The closing mechanism includes an automatic guide for the lid which is held spring-tensioned in a detent locking position (6). The automatic guide has a heart-shaped guide channel (1) with pin (2). The contour of the guide channel can be changed over at least a part in dependence on the action of external acceleration forces e.g. in the event of crash impact so as to move from a neutral contour into a locking contour. With a neutral contour the pin can be moved manually from the detent position into an unlocking position (8).
