METHODS FOR PRODUCING DROPLETS FOR USE IN CAPSULE-BASED ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAYS

Methods are provided for forming a dispersion of substantially uniform droplets. An internal phase (10) that includes a plurality of particles suspended in a first fluid is provided and an external phase (12) including a second fluid is provided. The internal phase (10) is vibrated and the internal phase (10) is applied to the external phase (12). Either the internal phase (10) or a combination of the internal and external phases (10, 12) form a series of droplets (30) or complex droplets (28) of substantially uniform size.
