A structural element (1) used as heat insulation between two components, especially a wall part (A) and a ceiling part (B), separated by a gap (2) to be filled with insulating material comprises a force-transferring reinforcing element (3) extending into and anchored in the two adjoining components on traversing the gap. The reinforcing element is made of plastic and is surrounded on all sides by a closed corrosion-protection coating (4). The coating has play against the reinforcing element in the horizontal direction so that the reinforcing element is able to follow relative horizontal movement of the two components. Preferred Features: The coating is made of diffusion-inhibiting material such as high-grade steel or plastic.
