摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient specimen treating method accompanied by an optimized program flow even when treating time of individual treatments or at an operation station is long. SOLUTION: In this treating method for a specimen, especially a cytological or histological specimen or the like, by for example, an automatic coloring device, parallel processes or operations can be carried out in various treatment stations by transferring a specimen housed preferably on a specimen carrier or, furthermore, in a specimen carrier magazine to the various treatment stations by a transfer device, loading the specimen in the treatment stations, performing treatments in accordance with a pre-settable treatment program, and allowing the transfer device to transfer other specimens or specimen carriers to other treatment stations. It is characterized by that an optimization of the automatic program flow of defining a treatment station having the same function as a specifically necessary treatment station as a bypass station and correspondingly loading it when the specifically necessary treatment station is loaded, and the treatment program consider a priority list of treatment stations with the same functions to be used as the bypass station.
