PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveform recording device and an accident point deciding system deciding an accident point in an electric power system by taking in waveform data in the same temporal axis even if a start delay occurs between devices for taking in the waveform data, set in distant places. SOLUTION: In this deciding system, when one (e.g. the waveform recording device 4) of the waveform recording devices connected to the electric power system (a power line 12) detects accident occurrence in the power system, the waveform recording device 4 transmits a request for transmission of waveform data on voltage and current for a prescribed period before and after the accident occurrence to the waveform recording device 4, to the other waveform recording device 5. When the waveform recording device 5 receives the transmission request, the waveform recording device 5 transmits the voltage and current waveform data for the prescribed period before and after the accident occurrence of the power system together with time information. When the waveform recording device 4 receives the data, the waveform recording device 4 decides the accident point of the power system by use of the waveform data of the waveform recording device 5 and the voltage and current waveform data for the prescribed period before and after the accident occurrence of the power system which the waveform recording device 4 measures.
