NOVEL ANTIVIRAL COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PLANT VIRUSES USING THE SAME

The present invention relates to an antiviral composition comprising trichodermin or trichoderminol isolated from a strain of Trichoderma albolutescenes as an active ingredient; to a plant virus control composition; and to a control method of a plant virus using the same. The trichodermin is represented by chemical formula 1, and the trichoderminol is represented by chemical formula 2. According to the present invention, the trichodermin or trichoderminol isolated from a strain of Trichoderma albolutescenes is a trichothecene compound, has antiviral activity against various plant viruses, and thus can be practically used to control plant viruses. Furthermore, the trichodermin or trichoderminol in the present invention is based on a natural substance so the active ingredient of the antiviral composition is easily and massively produced. The antiviral composition can be variously used in the field of agriculture such as the development of an environment-friendly virus control agent using a safe substance which does not damage a plant body, the production of higher value-added crops, etc.
