PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the production of yarn having larger strength by widely reducing the ratio of the short fibers included in the fiber material scraped from a cylinder by a doffer. SOLUTION: This apparatus installed in a card has the following structure: below a cylinder, covering members are placed between a doffer and a taker-in roller; at least one opening for discharging impurities and dusts is formed between the covering members; and a suctioning chamber is attached to the opening. The apparatus is constructed in such a manner that the short fibers present inside a garnet wire of a rotating cylinder (4) can be suctioned through the openings (18a, 18b) by suctioning chambers (19a to 19d), and the peeling power acting on the short fibers is larger than the holding power of the garnet wire of the cylinder.
