PURPOSE: A three-dimensional face model generating method using a two-dimensional full face image is provided to create a three-dimensional face model only with a general picture at a low cost without requiring a studio equipped with special apparatuses. CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional basic model is generated in advance and stored in a memory(10). The three-dimensional basic model has a plurality of control points for representing characteristics of a face and changing the basic model, and a plurality of general points for smoothly representing the shape of the basic model. The two-dimensional image of the full face photograph of a person is inputted through a two-dimensional image input device(30) and stored in the memory. Control points are set at positions of the two-dimensional image, corresponding to the control points of the basic model. The coordinates of the control points of the basic model are changed to accord with the relative coordinates of the control points of the two-dimensional image so as to vary the basic mode to accord with the two-dimensional image, thereby generating a varied three-dimensional model. Texture of a triangle of the two-dimensional image, corresponding to a triangle composed of the control points and general points of the varied three-dimensional model, is mapped with the varied three-dimensional model. |
