PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that a gas turbine combustor needs auxiliary machines such as an atomizing air compressor and an air cooling cooler, fails in ignition start by the pressurizing adjustment of the atomizing air during the ignition start of the combustor, and drives the auxiliary machines during rated load driving to waste power. SOLUTION: This gas turbine comprises a pressure regulation valve 12 for producing and feeding the atomizing air to a fuel nozzle 19a of the combustor 19 by pressurizing and regulating the pressurized air produced in another system, and a pressure regulator 15 for regulating and controlling the pressure regulation valve 12 based on the comparison of a discharge pressurization value of the combustion air 21 for the combustor 19 with the pressurization value of the atomizing air from the pressure regulation valve 12. In the gas turbine and its ignition starting method, when the discharge pressurization value of the combustion air 21 for the combustor 19 exceeds the pressurization value of the atomizing air, the pressure regulator 15 drives and stops the pressure regulation valve 12, so that the fuel is atomized and burnt at the discharge pressurization value of the combustion air 21.
