PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure constant ventilation of an ink storage chamber by returning ink flowing out by pressure load and/or temperature load to the ink storage chamber. SOLUTION: In a writing utensil and a quantity adjusting instrument equipped with the ink storage chamber 22, an ink guide member equipped with an air passage having a capillary ink regulator 20 and a permeable seal 30, a first non-capillary intermediate chamber 28 and a second non-capillary intermediate chamber 33, the second non-capillary intermediate chamber 33 is connected to the ink storage chamber 22 through at least one capillary pipe 32a and/or 32b. A labyrinth ventilation (26) is provided in the air passage in order to reduce the loss of ink.
