PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for packaging a package of products in a tobacco processing industry by a packaging material, by delivering a folded and finished package having a package part coated with an adhesive into packaging material applying devices. SOLUTION: In the case that a package part 34 coated with an adhesive which is not yet completely set is to be delivered into packaging material applying devices 30 and 31, the package is held by at least one of mechanical members 18, 19. There is provided this mechanical member acting as a first holding means 19 to enable at least one package portion 34 arranged in at least one side surface of a package 12 by this first holding means and coated with the adhesive to be fixed and held.
