PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the change between visibility for a driver seat and visibility for an adjacent passenger seat while reflection on the front glass of a car is prevented. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is disposed almost in the center of the instrument panel, and the liquid crystal panel 13 is composed of a liquid crystal 16 held between a back side polarizing plate 14 and a front side polarizing plate 15. The polarization axis of the front side polarizing plate 15 is rotated by 60 deg. in the clockwise direction from the vertical direction, and the polarization axes of the back side polarizing plate 14 and the front side polarizing plate 15 are symmetric for the vertical direction. The light emitting from the liquid crystal panel 13 and reflected on the front glass to propagate to driver's eyes is p-polarized light. When the p-polarized light is incident to the front glass at the Brewster angle, the reflected light disappears so that reflection of the liquid crystal display on the front glass can be prevented. The lateral viewing angles of the liquid crystal display are made identical. |
