PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplex writing implement which can be operated while a writing posture is kept during writing without separating the implement temporarily from a paper surface when one pen body protruded from the tip opening of a barrel is retracted, and the other pen body is protruded for writing. SOLUTION: Cam followers 22A and 2B are formed in side parts, two refills 2A and 2B sprung forward by springs 6 and housed in the barrel 1, and a rotary cam 3 is arranged rotatably between the barrel and a front opening 5 which are connected through a joint 4 while being exposed to the outside. When the rotary cam is rotated, one refill is retracted, and the other refill is advanced so that the pen bodies 21A and 21B are protruded from the tip opening 51 of the front opening.
