In ball-game set-ups, substantially consisting of a playing surface and a ball, it has in the past sometimes been difficult to identify faults in play arising from the played ball landing in the transitional zone between the playing surface and the adjoining non-playing surface. The object of the invention, therefore, is to develop a ball-game set-up which permits certain, automatic identification of faults in play. To this end, provision is made for the ball, the playing surface, the adjoining non-playing regions and, if appropriate, a net dividing the playing surface to be provided with an electrically conducting layer, the playing surface A, the non-playing surfaces C and the net (13) being connected via contact lines to a computer provided with at least one signal emitter (15). Such a ball-game set-up can be used, for example, to monitor a game of tennis, the tennis court requiring appropriate design. <IMAGE>
