PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running control device for a vehicle capable of improving identifying function of an actual car speed and a set car speed during running control by a display for calling driver's attention. SOLUTION: This running control device for the vehicle comprise a running controlling means having a control content calculating part for calculating control contents for operating at least one of a braking force and a driving force of an own car so as to make the inter-vehicle distance agree with a desired inter-vehicle distance or the car speed of the own car agree with a desired car speed, and a braking/driving force adjusting means for adjusting the braking force and the driving force to control the calculation result from the control content calculating part. The running controlling means is provided with a displayed content discriminating part for outputting a display command announced to the driver with a specific display to a display means disposed near a speed meter when the actual car speed exceeds the set car speed by a defined value or more during the running control.
